Grade 4 Camp – Kwalata
Kwalata Adventure Camp is located in a game lodge which hosts different species of birds and some wild life. During our game drive through the savannah, we were fortunate to see some of these creatures. On arrival, the Grade 4 learners were divided into teams and orientated to camp rules and they had to build a model of the camp to familiarise them with the camp layout. The emphasis of this activity was on teambuilding. Some of the other activities on Day 1 included Pictionary, pool and tuck-shop, stalking the lantern and a movie night under the stars.
On the morning of Day 2, learners had to respond to and assemble around the rhythm of the African Drum, musical entertainment that was provided by the facilitators’ Marimba band. Other activities included a game drive, water slides and swimming. The central theme of the camp was fun through active and intentional play.
The accommodation was decent, the meals were fresh and delicious, vibrant and active facilitators ensured that learners had an exciting and memorable camp experience.
