In the digital age, technological advancement is a growing requirement. The workforce our children will be entering is dominated by digital technology and it is important now more than ever to prepare our learners for the future.
By learning the basics of robotics, learners can develop their ability to be creative and innovative thinkers. Coding and programming are seen as important technology for education of the future. On Monday, 25 June, two of our learners Yatin Fakir and Dheshan Govindasamy and two teachers, Mr Letswalo and Mrs Makhubela attended a robotics workshop presented by Makeblock, a world leading robotics construction platform. Our learners and teachers spent the day understanding robotics and applying what they learnt to construct a robotic model using coding language and tools. Sagewood School is committed to leaping forward into the digital and technological age of learning. Recently, we welcomed Young Engineers in our primary school as an extra-mural. Soon we would like to introduce robotics workshops as an extra-mural for our older learners and in the near future we hope to integrate robotics into the school curriculum.
We would like to thank our parent Mr Seshan Krishnamurthi for organising this amazing opportunity for both our learners and teachers.
