THINKING SCHOOLS (TSSA) NETWORK MEETING
A few of our teachers attended the Thinking Schools Network meeting at Grayston Preparatory School. They had the opportunity to engage with other schools that are implementing the various Thinking Skill tools and during the two hour session, teachers gained in-depth understanding, knowledge and skills on how to effectively promote Thinking Skill strategies within a specific area of learning across all Grades. Teachers were also fortunate to get some feedback on the TSSA Road Show workshop at which James Anderston (World’s first certified growth mindset trainer) was one of the guest speakers. What resonated from the many positive feedback on the Roadshow was that “it is okay for children to make mistakes and NO they don’t learn from making a mistake but rather from fixing their mistakes”. The meeting certainly was a powerful and dynamic learning experience that helped teachers better understand how the teaching of creative and critical thinking skills can impact positively on how learners lead, communicate, give and receive feedback, solve problems, resolve conflict, interact with others and make daily decisions.
